Stephen Ssenkaaba is a contributing editor and senior features writer for The New Vision Printing and Publishing Company in Kampala, Uganda. Before this, he was a junior features writer for the company. He initiated digital storytelling on the features desk at New Vision, and recently has been reporting for the newly founded New Vision TV – an online television platform. He produced a series on the state of hygiene and sanitation in Ugandan towns, and a series on the failure of inclusive education for children with disabilities in Uganda. His mobile video story from this series was selected among the best ten mobile videos in the Thomson Foundation RTÉ Mobile Journalism Conference in Galway, Ireland. He also has won numerous Uganda National Journalism awards, and several other awards. He holds a diploma in journalism with distinction from the Uganda Management Institute, a bachelor’s degree in political science and sociology from Kampala Makerere University, both in Kampala. He also holds a master’s degree in international journalism, with distinction, from the University of Leeds in England.
