New approaches to news and media literacy for teens and young adults  Judge

Rachel Rohr is managing editor at The GroundTruth Project, a nonprofit news organization based at WGBH in Boston, and managing producer of the GroundTruth podcast. Previously, she was the digital and social media producer for the NPR news program “Here & Now.” In 2014, she received a fellowship from WBUR's iLab to produce a cross-country podcast and multimedia project focused on young voters and the midterm elections. Before that, Rohr was a news writer and audio producer at WBUR. She also worked as a staff reporter at the Vineyard Gazette on Martha’s Vineyard. Her projects at GroundTruth have been recognized by the national and regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, the Online Journalism Awards, the Webby Awards and the Awards for Excellence in Health Care Journalism. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication from New York University and is an alumna of the 2016 ONA-Poynter Leadership Academy for Women in Digital Media.
