Niala Boodhoo | 2020 Knight-Wallace Fellow
Niala Boodhoo hosts “Oh God Now What,” a weekly podcast distributed by PRX. She also frequently hosts the Friday News Roundup on NPR stations across the U.S. She also runs live journalism events for Religion News Service and other organizations. As a Knight-Wallace Fellow, Boodhoo developed a business plan for local news podcasts.

Holger Roonemaa | 2025 Knight-Wallace Fellow
Holger Roonemaa manages the investigative and fact-checking team at the daily news site Delfi Estonia. He is also an editor with the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP). He has covered corruption, espionage, and Russian security threats. As a Knight-Wallace Fellow, Roonemaa explored high-tech investigative methods to bolster data-driven regional partnerships.

Delece Smith-Barrow | 2017 Knight-Wallace Fellow
Delece Smith-Barrow is a deputy health editor at POLITICO. She previously served as education editor and led a team of journalists covering national education policy. Prior to joining POLITICO, she was a senior editor for higher education at The Hechinger Report. As a Knight-Wallace Fellow, Smith-Barrow examined underrepresented minority faculty recruitment in top universities.

Knight-Wallace Journalism Fellowship applications for the 2027-2028 academic year open in October.
The deadline for international applicants is December 1, 2026.
The deadline for U.S. applicants is February 1, 2027.
