Alison Pepper
Senior Vice President of Talent Strategy, CBS News and CBS Media Ventures
Alison Pepper is the Senior Vice President of Talent Strategy for CBS News and CBS Media Ventures. She leads the strategic negotiations of dozens of talent contracts while recruiting and developing some of the most distinguished journalists in the business. As part of the senior leadership team, Pepper works across the organization to reimagine its structure and position it for the future on both linear and digital platforms.
An award-winning media executive, Pepper has been instrumental in helping launch and run several CBS News broadcasts. She is known for her exceptional eye for finding and developing talent and identifying creative content partnerships. Over her 25-year career, she has served as a CBS News executive, talent agent at Creative Artists Agency and senior producer at “60 Minutes.”
In a previous role for CBS News concurrent with her role at “60 Minutes,” Pepper worked with the CBS News executive team to launch “CBS This Morning” and bring a harder news focus to the program. The new format drew critical acclaim and more viewers. Pepper hired hundreds of talented and diverse journalists into CBS News over her career. She helped promote dozens of people from within CBS, extending the philosophy she championed at "60 Minutes" to the entire news division -- making every position, when possible- a reporting job. Pepper is also credited with creating the News Associates Program which has brought in more than 130 new journalists into CBS News.
A native of Queens, Pepper is a graduate of the University of Michigan and a lifelong Wolverine.
